The Gastric Volvulus


Abstract
Two rare cases of developed in the soldiers who were mereged at Dae-Gu Military Hospital are presented.
The review of the literature on these subjects are attained and the surgical management for gastric volvulus is described.
The gastric volvulus is a relative rare disease and very infrequently reported.
The first described gastric volvulus was reported by Berti in 1866 and operated by Berg in 1897 firstly.
The diagnosis of the gastric volvulus is those of symptomes of the diagnostic triad of vomiting without the effect, circumscribed epigastric pain and impossibility for passing of a gastric tube.
This entity is a very infrequent abdominal emergency and high mortality ell, 30 percent, and also early diagnosis is difficult.
Two cases of this disease were managed with surgical emergency at Dae-Gu Military hcspital from 1970 to 1972.
These two cases were an a cute type and a chronic type.
The purpose of this report is to elucidate gastric volvulus and to report two cases for treatment surgically.
